Bill,
Amazingly Yellow girl, I mean Scout, slept on Erinn's lap the entire trip home. Scout spent about an hour exploring her new house and yard and at about 9:30 suddenly curled up in a little ball and fell asleep. We took advantage and hustled her off to her box next to my bed.
At about midnight I heard her whimper just a little, but I ignored her. The next sound was her relieving her bladder. I popped out of bed and got her outside, obviously too late, my fault, not hers. All was quite until 4:00 am when I heard that same whimper. This time I didn't hesitate, out of the box and into the yard we went, success.
Only one accident so far today, not bad in my opinion. Everyone in the family is truly enjoying our new addition, except the cat of course. He just puffs up and hides. Scout is sleeping on the floor in the living room, while we all watch the UCLA game. Thanks again.
Dave
Bill,
Thought I would update you on Scout, "yellow girl." At her last round of shots, last week, she weighed nearly 14 lbs. She's growing like a weed. I'm still amazed at how intelligent she is. She was basically house trained within one week. She walks obediently on leash and sits on command. As of the 3rd night home Scout started sleeping all night. She has very quickly become a precious part of the family. Of course it's a full time job keeping her from chewing on everything in sight, but that's part of having a puppy isn't it.
I also wanted to ask a favor of you and your family. Our family has had plans to spend two weeks over Christmas in Costa Rica for almost a year. We knew that getting a puppy at this time would present a few challenges as far as our trip was concerned. I couldn't think of anyone that I would have more trust in, knowing Scout would be in a loving environment than you guys.
Would you be willing to watch Scout for the time that we would be in Costa Rica? The dates are Dec. 16th to Dec. 31st. I would obviously compensate you whatever you feel is equitable. I would provide food, kennel, transportation and anything else you feel is necessary. Thanks for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Dave and Family
Halley does not cry at all at night. She is very smart and I would say close to being fully potty trained. She only had two accidents inside the house and she potties every 30 minutes or so. We will continue giving her her meds. We love her very much and it seems like she is growing every day.
Take care,
Pedro, Lynn and Halley
Hi Bill and Nanette,
Here are some more pictures of our little girl...
Pedro, Lynn and Halley
Hi Bill and Nanette,
Halley is growing up so fast that we cannot believe our eyes. She is a very loving and loyal part of our family. Enclosed you will find some pictures of her @ home.
Take care,
Pedro, Lynn and Halley
Hi Bill and Nanette,
We saw that you are selling Jasmine. Is that Halley's mom? We know Kobe is the dad but we didn't remember who her mom was. Out of curiosity, why are you selling her? She is gorgeous!
Also, with Lynn's pregnancy and Mateo's subsequent birth we were never able to send off Halley's AKC papers and now we cannot find them. Is it possible to get those papers again so we can send them to the AKC and register Halley once and for all? Please let me know...
Attached you will find more pictures of both of our babies
Take care,
Pedro, Lynn and Halley
Good Morning, Bill,
King Pup and I are doing really well. I was amazed that the pup did not even have any separation anxiety at all. He adjusted really well the first night he was home with us. My two other dogs accepted him right away, although King can be a pest to them at times. They're too old to want to play rough-housing games... Hee hee... :)
Other than that, he and I bonded and he stays by me all the time and comes when I call or clap my hands to get his attention. He does love to eat! He's such a little piglet. :) At night, he likes to sleep with his toys and my fuzzy slippers. Somehow, he likes to have that in his bed, even though I'm right there next to him.
All throughout the weekend, I fed him 4 times a day, as instructed and gave him is vitamin. I'm going to place an order for the vitamins to be shipped to me on a timely basis.
He's just so adorable! My husband and I just love him!
I promise to stay in touch and will send pictures as well.
Hope your day goes well.
Take Care!
Valerie
Good Morning, Bill!
Just wanted to share King's progress with you...
So far, he is adjusting really well to his new home. Our two other dogs are very tolerant of the new pup and they are getting along well.
Just like any babies, he wakes me up at 2AM, right on the dot, to let me know he wants to go 'potty.' Sure enough, I take him out in the yard and seconds later, there's a puddle and 'nuggets'. He's so smart! He knows to wake me up when he needs to go. Then we go back in the house and he likes to play for about an hour, then he goes to back to sleep.
Hope all is well and will be in touch soon.
Valerie
Hi Bill,
Good Morning! Hope you and your family are doing well.
I just wanted to share a few good news with you regarding my little King.
First, he's grown so much since I last picked him up. More importantly, he is very healthy and growing stronger. His Vet gave him a very good clean bill of health.
King had his first visit to the Convalescent Home last Saturday. As you may already know, I do volunteer work at the elderly homes. King was very well-behaved and he visited a few elderly patients who simply enjoyed his company. His presence lit up the spirits of some of the folks at the hospital. I am very proud of King's accomplishments.
Also, King learned to sit on command this weekend. I rewarded him with treats for his accomplishment. He's very intelligent and learns very quickly. I can't be more proud of him already!
King and I had a very busy weekend. Nonetheless, it was both rewarding and I am grateful for what we had to offer.
I'll stay in touch and I promise to send his new pictures very soon.
Take Care!
Valerie
Hi Bill,
Good Afternoon, hope you're doing well.
I just want to let you know that I referred you to a colleague (Nicole Steel) in my office who is interested in getting some information about your pups. I brought King to work with me today and of course, he was a heart-stealer and everybody just adored him. King was so well-behaved and so gentle.
I gave her your name and website and have asked her to view the pups, the adults dogs, and the testimonial page, just to give her an idea of the many satisfied and happy pup owners. (me included!).
Thanks and have a nice afternoon!
Hi Bill,
Good Morning!
As promised (and long overdue), I have attached copies of King's pictures. I hope you like them. Every time I look at his pictures, it amazes me how much he's grown so much. Sometimes I wish he was a little pup longer... :)
Take Care and will be in touch soon.
Valerie
Hi Bill & Nanette,
Good Morning!
Just wanted to share this good news with you...
King just became a hero in my book last night.
While everyone was asleep last night, King kept trying to wake me up (around 11:30 PM). He kept pawing at my side of the bed then he would go in the kitchen and back in the bedroom... He must have done this at least 4 or 5 times until I finally got up. I figured he ran out of water in his bowl...
Needless to say, I smelled gas coming from the kitchen. I immediately checked the stove and found out that I did not turn the knob all the way to 'off.' I opened the windows and our front door to let the smell out of the house... King just sat next to me and wagging his tail... He was so proud of himself... I gave him lots of hugs and kisses for being my hero!
Isn't he so cool?
Valerie
Happy New Year!
Here are some photos of King... He's grown so much!
Take Care.
Valerie
Good Morning Bill & Nannette,
Here are some photos of King... He's grown so much!
Thought we share more pictures of King. I am still so amazed at how smart King is and it truly is a reflection from very good breeding. One of the many things he's learned is to walk beside me and stays beside me when we go for our walks in my neighborhood. Even if there are dogs also strolling by with their owners, King will continue to stay by me unless I give him a signal or a command that it's ok to proceed. With his enormous built, his physique and how he carries himself, usually dogs (and their owners) will make way for us and their dogs shows submission towards King. That's what I love about Shepherds... They have a very commanding presence about them and they don't even have to try. :)
Have a great week!
Valerie & King
Hi Bill!
We got our puppy last Saturday and we absolutely love him. He whimpered a little bit the first night (might be missing his sibs), but he quieted down the rest of the night. He is sooo active and loves getting our attention. It's so nice to wake up in the morning and see his little face staring up at us. He is a very good puppy and we are excited of having him in our home.

Casey had a very good night. She slept in my son's room, but all three kids & my dog slept with her. She woke my daughter up once, & my daughter took her outside. She did her business, but didn't want to go back to sleep. I woke up & put her on top of me, & she slept all night. I think she is already potty trained. We just take her to where our dog goes. She is so smart. She follows us all over the house & backyard. Casey has slobber all over her back from my Australian Sheperd herding her. They get along great too. My son gave Casey her medicine this morning. You were right; she loves it. Here are some pics to share with you.
Ulanda
Hey, yes we gave her the medicine, she was a little upset when it came to bedtime, she whimpered a little bit ran around and then after rubbing her she went to sleep,..it wasn't bad at all. She does seem a little upset about not being with her brothers and sisters and loves attention!

Bill,
All is fine here. Crazy? I have been there, but still haven't made it back yet. :) Drake had his 1st visit to the vet. His potty training is coming along. It gets better every day. He is very good at not leaving the yard. And is growing! We are working on what are his toys and what is not. The first couple of days were rough, but it is better now. Andy can't wait to see him.
I will write more later and send pics soon.
Take care,
Melissa

Hi Andy this is mom--Drake is a GREAT dog--we have
> given him alternative chewy things like sticks
> and rawhide. I had him out on the grass playing

> and fly tail over ears like a ball-bearing and bring
> it right back --shades of Blackie and the soccer
> ball. I took him to the beach today and he went
> into the Chesapeake Bay because there was a young
> boy, about 7-8 years old with boots on in the
> lagoon. He loved the water and he also loves the
> leaves. As they swirl around in the wind, he chases
> them til he can stomp on them and then finds

> Andy,

Bill,
Here is a picture of Drake...more to follow.
My schedule has changed a lot since we last spoke and Andy is still deployed. Recently, Drake went to live with Oma and Opa (Andy's parents). He will only be there until Andy finishes his deploment which should be no later than June 2006. Drake is a wonderful, smart and loving dog. We are really glad to have him. I have attached recent emails of Drakes new adventures with the grandparents, Bob and Betty. I thought you might enjoy them. Oma and Opa are retired and live on the Chesapeake Bay in Rock Hall, MD. They get to spend all day with him. With my schedule change, I am out the door at 0515 with the kids and we do not get home until 6pm at night. That wasn't fair to Drake. As much as we miss him, especially the kids, it was the right thing to do. We look forward to having him back home with us as soon as possible.
Take care and we will write again soon.
Happy Thanksgiving! Melissa and Andy
Drake is doing absolutely great. He is very big now, about 85 lbs. He has two other large dogs that he plays with on a daily basis. My parents live on the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland and Drake loves to go into the Bay no matter the temp. Since Drake has been so long with my parents I am going to allow them to keep him. They love him and he has brought a lot of joy to their lives. My dad talks about him with pride and affection. Drake really seems to like it in Maryland, with the water and other dogs. Drake has been neutered and micro chipped. I will talk to my mom and ask her to take some pics and send them to you. Please email me your address cause my parents do not have a digital camera. He is a great dog Bill.
Once I am back home and settled in, I will be contacting you for another dog. I really do want one for myself and seeing how great Drake is I have no reservations about coming to you again. Hope you and your family are doing well. I will get my mom to get those pics to you soon.
Send me your address. Thanks, and take care.......
Andy
Hello Bill and family,
I thought you might be curious about our boy Malloy.
He's a fantastic pet! He has definitely stolen our hearts and we look forward to many years with him.
I'm attaching a couple of photos (because I've just learned how to) to show you how he's coming along.
His rate of growth is amazing. It has brought about a condition that is new to us though. Due to the rate of his growth he has developed a limp that effects alternating front legs and is called "Pan Osteotitous" sp? It's caused by a high level of protein in the bone marrow and is said to correct itself as he reaches his full grown size. We've cut back a bit on the Natural Choice chub that we've been adding to his kibble and give him a buffered asprin as needed for pain. He controls his level of activity and doesn't really seem interested in slowing down much as a result of the condition.
He is the smartest dog ever!!! Yesterday he weighed in at 56lbs. He has a funny habit too. He likes to suck his thumb......okay, his blanky.....I refer to it as his thumb because he goes to it when a little person would go to their thumb....when he's sleepy or near bedtime. He wimpers and kneads his blanky. When we first had him he'd climb on my lap and suck my forearm. As he's grown too big for my lap he shifted to the blanky.
Thanks for indulging me. It's fun to talk to dog lovers about him.....
Hope all is well with your tribe in So. Cal.
Regards, Janet
Bill,
thanks for checking up on the boy. He's fabulous! I am remiss with getting recent photos from the camera to the computer. Our whole family is awaiting an update. I will make it a goal ASAP. I'm in retail and the holidays get really busy.
I was on your site last week. Wow, there were some great looking pups in the last litter. We keep wanting a second and wish we would have gone ahead and brought home a sister with Malloy....hind sight Huh?
Malloy was nuetured in Feb. they performed abdominal surgery as the second testical never appeared and wasn't in the canal. He came through it like a champ. We, on the other hand, suffered many bruises on the shins from the darn halo, cone head he wore the first 7 days.
At last weigh-in he was a solid 77lbs. that was in Feb. I'll get an updated weight to you soon. He's really tall too.
Take care, Janet
Hi Bill,
sorry it's been a while since I've e-mailed. Mike and I took Malloy to the beach for the first time last week.
Thought you'd enjoy a couple of coastal shots. we're about a 20 min drive from Bodega Bay.
Hope all is well.
Our boy is about 88 lbs. now. and as sweet as ever.
Jan
Hi Bill,
She is terrific, a typical puppy. She gets along great with Dan - but I had to go out of town a few times for her to get used to him. She loves when people come over. She thinks tearing certain items up is pretty fun. She loves to get soaking wet and filthy dirty.
She goes to the horses, socializes with people and we are working on getting her to get used to other dogs.
She thinks she is a cat sometimes bouncing around like they do. It is pretty funny
She is definitly a mama's girl! I will send photos in the mail since my scanner is not working.
Kathy
Bill & Nannette,
Thanks for the pics! We are having so much fun with Suki! She has been doing great!! She slept gated in our bathroom all night with no problem (didn't cry or get up once in the night, woke up around 6:30am. I think the girls tired her out!). And no accidents in the house!
We couldn't be happier!
Thanks,
Shelli
Hi Bill & Nannette,
Just wanted to drop a note to let you know how well Suki is doing. She is such a good dog! She sits, stays, and is learning to follow my lead while walking. She Loves the dog park & riding in the car to take the girls to school (she's had the opportunity to spend time with the 2nd grade & kindergarten classes & she is great with the kids). She's my shadow, I can't leave a room without her checking on me. I'll send pictures soon.
I just had Suki spayed at the Bixby clinic (they are super nice there) and she
did great.
Hi Bill & Nannette,
We are having a great time with Suki! We just finished our basic obedience training and Suki got a trophy for 3rd place out of 20 (she should of gotten 1st but she was distracted by loud b-day party also going on at the park). All of our family loves Suki, we've spend a few nights at my in-laws with Suki and she adapted perfect following our house rules. I also take her to drop off the girls at school & no one can believe she's a puppy, they think she is extremely calm & well mannered.
Suki has been the perfect dog!
We'd love to bring her by sometime. Maybe some weekend we can stop my?
Shellie
