What I want for Lane's House Of Shepherds is Quality above all else. My GSD must
be Sound of mind and body, Intelligent, Noble, Dignified, Sensitive and Loyal. I
know that those of you waiting for puppies would rather wait for the best
quality pup I can produce, and not have a pup from just any two GSD that I can
throw together (this is not my way and could never happen). Due to my very
selectve breeding program, our next litter will be in mid-2008.
I have personaly found a new bloodline on the west coast that I will breed with. I have
bought a few female pups and will raise and train them myself so that I know the
temperament as well as character of both sire and dame before I mate them. I urge
all buyers to have a puppy sold by me examined by a licensed veterinarian within
72 hours of receiving their pup. The buyer will pay for the examination.

For me a title is not the end-of-ends in the breeding process. In fact there has been far more titled females that should not be bred than one would care to think about. I laugh to myself at these purists who get so worked up at what I do because I would dare breed a female without a Schutzhund title. The fact is that it's genetics that produces good dogs and not titles.
I ask how many winners of the German Schutzhund Championship or the American Schutzhund Championships have gone on to become great stud dogs? The answer is very very very few. None that I know of.
The reason is that dogs that win these championships are mostly very compliant dogs. They need to be for top sport.
